His excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as the 7th democracally elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, 2023 and as the 5th President since the naon’s return to democracy in 1999. One of the slogans of his campaign was “Emi lo Kan” which is a Yoruba expression for “It is my Turn”. Entertainers and media praconers look forward to the impacts the new administraon would have on the Nigerian entertainment industry and earnestly hope that it would be the Industry’s turn to receive special aenon towards development. The entertainment industry in Nigeria is largely private sector driven and has seen several Nigerian musicians gain global aenon, with major record, distribuon and music publishing companies in the US, UK, and other parts of Europe playing significant roles in their successes.
